To help each driver find a more comfortable driving position, the HR-V has a telescoping steering wheel. Much better than just a tilt steering wheel or adjustable seat, this allows a short driver to sit further from the steering wheel while maintaining contact with the pedals. The Compass doesn’t offer a telescoping steering wheel.
The HR-V’s standard power windows allow the driver or passenger to lower and raise the windows without leaning over or being distracted. Power windows cost extra on the Compass.
The HR-V’s driver’s power window opens or closes with one touch of the window control, making it more convenient at drive-up windows and toll booths. The Compass’ optional driver’s power window switch has to be held the entire time to close it fully.
The HR-V’s standard power locks allow the driver or passenger to lock or unlock all the doors at a touch without leaning over, or reaching to the back seat. Power locks cost extra on the Compass.
The Smart Entry System standard on the HR-V EX/EX-L allows you to unlock the driver’s door, cargo door and start the engine all without removing a key from pocket or purse. This eliminates searching for keys before loading groceries, getting in the vehicle in bad weather or making a hurried start to your trip. The Jeep Compass doesn’t offer an advanced key system.
The HR-V has a standard locking fuel door with a remote release located convenient to the driver. A locking fuel door helps prevent vandalism, such as sugar in the tank and fuel theft. The Compass doesn’t offer a locking fuel door.
To improve rear visibility by keeping the rear window clear, the HR-V has a standard rear fixed intermittent wiper with a full on position. The rear wiper standard on the Compass only has an intermittent setting, so in a hard rain visibility isn’t as good.
The HR-V has standard power remote mirrors. The Compass only comes with remote mirrors at extra cost. Without them the driver will have to roll down the windows and reach across the car to adjust the mirrors.
Standard smartphone integration for the HR-V EX/EX-L allows the driver and passengers access to select programs on their smartphones, including reading text messages aloud, playing internet radio stations and other connected activities without taking their eyes off the road or their hands from the wheel. The Compass doesn’t offer factory integrated smartphone program access.
